Aston Villa star compared to Gareth Bale after ‘stunning’ moment vs Bournemouth
Dave Edwards has been left blown away by what he’s seen from Aston Villa against Bournemouth.
Villa welcomed Bournemouth to Villa Park on Sunday and went in at the half-time break with a 2-0 lead.
After Emi Buenda picked up an injury against Manchester City, he made his Premier League return with style at the Holte End.
The Argentine netted a stunning free-kick before Amadou Onana made it two, all while Ollie Watkins had many half-chances against Bournemouth ahead of the interval.
Former Wolves man Edwards was left amazed by Buendia, as he compared the attacking midfielder to Real Madrid legend Bale on BBC Radio Five Live.
He said: “A stunning free kick from Emi Beundia. It is so close, so hard to get up and over the wall. He almost knuckles it, Gareth Bale or David Luiz-esque.“

Emi Buendia netted ‘stunning’ free kick vs Bournemouth
Buendia has been a surprise star for Villa this season after looking likely to depart B6 over the summer.
The number 10 didn’t do much while on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, but has definitely made up for lost time since returning to the Midlands.
The 28-year-old has already contributed to five Premier League goals and made that six with an electric strike against the Cherries.
His effort was side-footed up and over the wall to perfection, leaving Djordje Petrovic to stand and watch the ball hit the net.
The former Norwich City man has demonstrated this ability previously, scoring a very similar strike in pre-season at the Bescot Stadium.
Buendia deserved the goal after what was an all-action, industrious performance in what was a hugely positive first-half in B6.
Buendia has been excellent for Aston Villa vs Bournemouth
The 28-year-old may not always find the net or pick up an assist, but he is always likely to put in an excellent shift for the Villans.
Buendia did both of those things against the Cherries, stunningly finding the net while also contributing across the pitch.
The attacker completed 11 passes in B6 and created one big chance, while also taking three shots of his own.

He also made seven defensive contributions, winning 100 per cent of his tackles, while also contributing one clearance and four recoveries.
These stats reflect a man in superb form and someone who certainly deserved to open the scoring against a stubborn Bournemouth side.
