Aston Villa player ratings vs Liverpool: Amadou Onana shines again, 2/10 has absolute stinker
Aston Villa fell to a 2-0 loss against Liverpool on Saturday.
Liverpool played host to Villa at Anfield with Arne Slot’s side looking to put an end to their shocking run of Premier League form.
Obviously, with Aston Villa in town, they did that as Villa maintained their shocking record away to Liverpool.
Evann Guessand had a day to forget for Villa before being taken off, but the performance of Emi Martinez caught the eye for a high-profile error.
On a day where the Argentine cost his side dearly on Merseyside, Villa News has rated each player’s performance out of 10.

Amadou Onana was excellent vs Liverpool
Villa beat Manchester City 1-0 in their last Villa Park outing and largely had the performance of Amadou Onana and Boubacar Kamara to thank.
The Belgium international started again and looked good once again as he made his presence felt in a busy midfield on Merseyside.
Onana maintained a 91 per cent pass accuracy and was also able to create a chance with one of his 39 completed passes.

The 24-year-old also contributed with five defensive actions and won three duels on the night in a monstrous midfield performance.
Unfortunately, his efforts didn’t count for anything as he was totally let down by the performance of his goalkeeper in L4.
Emi Martinez cost Aston Villa dearly vs Liverpool
Martinez gifted Mohamed Salah the opener for Liverpool with a bizarre moment which can’t truly be understood.
The Argentine quite literally passed the ball to one of the greatest goal scorers the Premier League has ever seen and left the goal wide open.
He did make some positive saves on the night, making two stops while also chipping in with seven recoveries in the night.
What can’t be excused is the fact that he made an error that led to a goal, was at fault in the build-up to Liverpool’s second and maintained a long ball accuracy of just 44 per cent.
Martinez’s performance was truly terrible and completely changed the atmosphere around Anfield, essentially handing Liverpool an easy three points.
