Unai Emery must credit Boubacar Kamara after what he did in Aston Villa win vs Tottenham
Aston Villa are finally going from strength to strength under Unai Emery again.
At the start of the season, it looked like Aston Villa could have sacked Emery after a dreadful start to the 2025-26 campaign.
Fast forward a couple of weeks and Emery’s side are one of the most in-form teams as Villa beat Tottenham 2-1 on Sunday, extending their win streak to five.
Morgan Rogers took the plaudits for his sensational first-half strike, which pulled Aston Villa back in the game, but Boubacar Kamara‘s performance has gone under the radar.

Boubacar Kamara ran the show for Aston Villa vs Tottenham
Kamara suffered a hamstring injury at the start of the campaign, which has disrupted the midfielder’s season to some extent.
However, since returning from injury, Kamara has been a staple in Emery‘s Villa line-ups, and his performance against Tottenham suggests he won’t be leaving the side anytime soon.
Minutes | Accurate passes | Accurate long balls | Accurate passes in own half | Dribbles (successful) | Tackles won | Ground duels won | Rating |

Kamara was doing both sides of the game for Emery, as he defensive midfielder made crucial tackles, driving runs, and left the game boasting an impressive 100 per cent pass accuracy in his own half.
The Frenchman was crucial in holding Villa together throughout the game, as the second half showed just how important he was in winning the ball back and getting his side back on the front foot.

For that, Emery owes him a big thanks, as Kamara was the second-highest-rated Villa player behind match-winner Emi Buendia.
Kamara has been key to Aston Villa’s revival
Kamara has featured in all five of Aston Villa’s recent victories, as he is going to be vital for any success the Villans see this season.
Villa have started their Europa League campaign off perfectly, with maximum points from two games, as they face Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles next on Thursday.
Emery will be hoping that his side have gained experience from the Champions League heartbreak suffered at B6 last season when they were knocked out by eventual competition winners Paris Saint-Germain.
Regardless, Kamara will be at the heart of all things positive for Villa, as he is quietly performing as one of the best midfielders in England at the moment.
