Unai Emery may have found his next Douglas Luiz at Aston Villa in 92% star
Normal order has resumed at Aston Villa after Unai Emery’s side know the feeling of victory once again at Villa Park.
After a terrible start to the season, Emery found himself in trouble at Aston Villa with speculation over his future at the club building.
Villa have won their last three games with Morgan Rogers slowly getting back to his best, as is Ollie Watkins in the final third.
Emery will be hoping for no injuries while some of his players now report for international duty, as Villa look to kick on in October.
Aston Villa have come out the other end of a rough patch, as Emery may have finally found his replacement for Douglas Luiz through the struggle.

Lamare Bogarde’s stats show he is Unai Emery’s new diamond
Lamare Bogarde has been touted for a move away from Villa since progressing through from the youth academy.
The Dutch midfielder made appearances last season but failed to impress. However this campaign, Bogarde has looked spectacular under Emery.
Bogarde continues to grow in confidence at Aston Villa, with a 92 per cent passing accuracy in the opposition half highlighting just one of several standout areas in his game.
Games (starts) | Touches per game | Acc. passes in opposition half | Balls recovered per game | Tackles per game | Ground duels won per game | Total duels won per game |
6 (3) | 31.7 | 92% | 1.5 | 0.7 | 2.2 | 2.7 |
He has started in Villa’s last two home games, where Emery’s side came out with wins in both against Fulham and Burnley.

With Bogarde now staking his claim for a permanent starting spot, we could see him progress on the attacking front from midfield.
Emery could redefine Bogarde’s role at Aston Villa
Villa have missed Luiz since his departure to Juventus in 2024. Luiz played a huge part in initially helping the Villans stay up and was integral to their European football push.
Boubacar Kamara played next to Bogarde against Burnley, as the former is seen as a midfielder who sweeps up in front of the defence.
With time, Bogarde could progress exactly how Luiz did into more of an attacking threat from midfield, potentially incorporating a number eight role.
With Villa now back to winning, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Bogarde be given more free roam in the opposition’s half, as his stats show that he could potentially be a threat going forward.
