Three Aston Villa players who’ve picked themselves vs Burnley after Feyenoord display

Unai Emery has some difficult decisions to make ahead of Aston Villa’s fixture against Burnley after an impressive victory against Feyenoord.

Aston Villa picked up an important three points in the Europa League on Thursday, making it two wins from two to start the competition.

Emery praised the travelling Aston Villa fans out in the Netherlands, naming them as the difference makers for his side.

Emi Buendia and John McGinn were on the scoresheet as Aston Villa beat Feyenoord 2-0 in impressive fashion.

There is now a tight turnaround for Villa, as they welcome Scott Parker’s side to Villa Park on Sunday.

Although some positions will be up for debate, these three players simply have to start.

Marco Bizot

Marco Bizot was brought into the side after Emi Martinez’s late dropout for Villa and displayed an impressive performance, keeping a clean sheet.

This was Bizot’s fifth start in Villa colours after transfer rumours surrounding Martinez’s departure in the summer.

Although Villa have leaked goals at the back, Bizot has impressed in his time between the sticks, keeping three clean sheets in all competitions and preventing an expected goals of 2.38 in the Europa League.

Ezri Konsa

Konsa has been a bright spark for a struggling Villa side this season, cementing his place in the England set-up too.

Konsa had a 91 per cent pass accuracy while also completing an impressive moment where he burst into the home side’s final third, completing his only dribble attempt of the game.

The England international won 100 per cent of his ground duels against Feyenoord, proving just how excellent he was.

Konsa has become a vital part of Villa’s success over recent years, and looks to have taken another step up this season.

Emi Buendia

Despite links away from Villa midweek, Buendia looks to have found his form, putting Villa 1-0 up away just after the hour mark.
