Aston Villa backed to bring Loftus-Cheek back to Premier League as wages claim made
Aston Villa could soon make a swoop to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek from AC Milan.
Unai Emery has had many midfield issues to deal with this season, with Amadou Onana’s injury record representing a concern for Villa right now.
The Belgian has been out alongside his countryman and Villa teammate Youri Tielemans, who has also been absent through injury.
This duo have also been added to by the exit-linked Ross Barkley at Villa, slamming home just how bad the midfield crisis is at Villa Park.
A midfield signing could now come into the pipeline in B6, with Loftus-Cheek representing a potential option for the Villans moving forward.

This article includes exclusive comments from former scout Bryan King.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek could return to England with Aston Villa
It was a quiet and frustrating summer window in the Midlands, with a general lack of business conducted until deadline day.
This saw Evann Guessand be Villa’s only big-money signing, much to the annoyance of the Villa board and supporters alike.
There will be hope that this will change in the near future, with Loftus-Cheek potentially set to become the next sizable transfer spend in the Midlands.
Ex-Aston Villa employee King believes that the England international could be in line for a Premier League return, potentially to Villa Park.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, King said: “I think he’d be a good option for anybody to look at.
“He’s got the experience, and he’s still got three or four good years in him.
“With his experience, although he hasn’t had a lot of gametime in Italy in the last year or so, he’s still a good player, and he’d still be a plus for Villa.
“If anybody is going to bring him back to England, then why not Villa?
“He’s got to play football. He might be picking up decent money where he is, but he’s probably already earned his money now.
“The thing that is going to be interesting for him and his agent is to get him back playing regularly. You’ve got the World Cup next year and there’s obviously always that opportunity.”
Ruben Loftus-Cheek could become talisman at Aston Villa
Villa have plenty of excellent midfield options, but it does feel as if another experienced head could come in handy moving forward.
This is where the 29-year-old could come in from San Siro.
Since leaving Chelsea, Loftus-Cheek has become a regular with Milan, and it is that level of signing that Villa need to be making moving forward.
Stat | Ruben Loftus-Cheek |
Appearances | 76 |
Goals | 11 |
Assists | 3 |
Monchi may have preferred younger players with room to grow, but it could be experienced pros at the top level that could take Villa upwards in the short and long term.
The Englishman could go on to be a real fan favourite at Villa Park, in a similar vein to Onana before his form fell off last season.
