Aston Villa vs Fulham result predicted by supercomputer

Aston Villa will look to secure their first Premier League win of the season against Fulham on Sunday.

It was a first win of the season on Thursday when Villa narrowly beat Bologna 1-0 in the Europa League.

John McGinn’s first-half strike gave Villa Park its first goal of the season, after what has been a torrid run of form for the Villans.

Victory in the Premier League is of dire importance, however, with Unai Emery facing discussions over his future at Villa.

Villa drew 1-1 with Sunderland in their last league outing, despite playing the entire second half, and much of the first, against 10 men.

Villa backed for their first three points vs Fulham

Andy Madley will oversee Villa’s clash with Fulham, but Emery will hope his team can win without the referee’s input.

The Villans are yet to win in the Premier League this season, having scored their first goal in league competition when Matty Cash netted against Sunderland.

But Thursday’s win will have provided some encouragement for Emery’s side, with Donyell Malen and Ollie Watkins also going close to scoring.

Opta’s supercomputer has given Villa a 54 per cent chance of walking away with the three points, with the home side’s quality backed to kick into life.

Fulham have been given a 22 per cent chance of compounding Emery’s misery, however, with there being a 23 per cent chance of the scores ending level.

Fulham will be difficult to break down

Fulham suffered at the back end of last season, but have responded with a strong start to the campaign.

Marco Silva’s side have won their last three games across all competitions, beating Leeds United, Brentford and Cambridge United in the Carabao Cup.

And the Cottagers can count themselves unlucky not to have claimed at least a point at Stamford Bridge, too, after Josh King’s first-half opener was controversially disallowed.

With Joachim Andersen and Calvin Bassey forming a strong partnership at the back, Fulham will be difficult to break down.

The forward-thinking nature of Ryan Sessengon could provide opportunities for Evann Guessand if he starts, however, with the wing-back often leaving space on the right flank.
