What Aston Villa fans did to Morgan Rogers in 88th minute vs Bologna says it all

Morgan Rogers has had a season to forget already for Aston Villa.

The England international had a terrific campaign last time out, which culminated in Rogers winning the PFA Young Player of the Year award with Villa.

Things couldn’t be more different this time around, with Rogers blasted for his showing against Sunderland last time out in the Premier League.

This has seen reports emerge of a last chance for Rogers under Unai Emery at Villa, which may have come up against Bologna in the Europa League.

Rogers’ performance left a lot to be desired once again, summed up by the way the Villa Park faithful reacted late on in the second half.

Aston Villa fans in ironic reaction to Morgan Rogers

Aston Villa secured a 1-0 victory against Bologna in a much-needed win after what has been a terrible start to the campaign in B6.

An Ollie Watkins missed penalty wasn’t enough to derail the result after John McGinn netted the opener with a rangey half volley.

As positive as this was, there is still worry surrounding the performance of Rogers, something which has to be seen as a concern.

The Englishman was very poor against the Serie A side, showcased by his 42 per cent pass accuracy, completing just 10 of his 24 attempts.

This sparked the Villa Park faithful into an ironic cheer when Rogers completed a pass in the 88th minute, showcasing just how wasteful he had been.

Having lost the ball on at least 31 occasions in the Midlands, there is something seriously wrong with the 23-year-old’s performance levels right now.

Morgan Rogers must re-find electric form of last season

There is just no getting away from how good the ex-Manchester City youngster was last season after becoming a true regular under Emery.

This saw him contribute to 27 goals in all competitions, despite coming up against high-quality individuals like Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford in the squad.

Evidence is there to prove exactly how good the 23-year-old can be, so it is totally bizarre as to why he’s been so poor so far this time around.

He has to turn it around and rediscover the form from last campaign, something that certainly won’t be easy for the attacking midfielder.
