Outrageous Aston Villa ticket news emerges just hours ahead of kick-off vs Bologna
Aston Villa are due to kick off their Europa League campaign against Bologna on Thursday at Villa Park.
Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers could be dropped against Bologna, with Unai Emery likely to have one eye on the visit of Fulham on Sunday.
The Spaniard is desperately in need of a victory at Villa Park, with his side currently sitting 18th in the Premier League.
Villa drew 1-1 with Sunderland on Sunday, despite playing against 10 men for the majority of the game.
Jadon Sancho stood out after coming off the bench for Villa, but was a footnote in another terrible performance from Emery’s side.

Aston Villa fans left out of pocket by pricing competitor
Villa are favourites to beat Bologna, with their opponents suffering a poor start to the season themselves.
The Serie A side have scored just three goals in four games, and sit 11th in the league. Vincenzo Italiano’s side are coming off the back of a win against Genoa, however.
Still, Villa fans will hope to finally see a return of the quality seen at Villa Park so often last season.
It has been revealed that the fans in attendance may be paying too much, however, with Dan Bardell taking to social media to share his disgruntlement.
Price zone 2 – Europa League group stage | Season ticket Holder | Non-season ticket holder |
Adult | £61 | £71 |
Under 21 | £55 | £60 |
Over 66 | £55 | £60 |
On Thursday, the journalist posted a link to a third-party ticket website, which shows tickets available across the stadium for as low as £30.
The website shows 85 listings available, with some even allowing the purchase of three or four tickets sat together.
Bardell wrote: “I don’t know the ins and outs of it, but this isn’t good enough. Season ticket holders/members shouldn’t be paying what we are when tickets come available at half price nearer the fixtures.”
Bad feeling around Aston Villa continues
It is true that when a club is going through a rough patch, it can feel impossible to shake the bad feeling.
The ticket situation is not entirely Villa’s fault. The club could do more to ensure tickets stay out of the hands of touting websites, but it is not always possible.
But it is certainly another contributor to the bad feeling that currently surrounds the club, and will surround the club until results on the pitch start to pick up.
