Harvey Elliott’s Aston Villa future in doubt after latest Unai Emery development
Unai Emery has lost two and drawn four so far this campaign, with his Aston Villa side only scoring twice.
Emery’s Villa future is uncertain as pressure continues to mount on the head coach.
His side has been poor particularly at the top end of the pitch this year, with Morgan Rogers failing to make an impact for Aston Villa so far this season.
After a poor transfer window, Monchi has decided to leave Villa, as emerging details on his departure have only added to the tension at Villa Park.

Monchi pushed for Harvey Elliot as Unai Emery wanted Lucas Paqueta
Harvey Elliot said joining Aston Villa was a “difficult” decision to make due to his love for Liverpool, but he believed it was the right time in his career to move on and get regular game time.
Jacob Tanswell from the New York Times has now reported that Lucas Paqueta was Emery‘s first choice over Elliot.
- Elliot joined in a loan deal that sees the Villa obligated to buy him for £35m
- He is yet to make a start for Villa in the Premier League
- Liverpool have a buy-back clause in the deal
The former Liverpool man ended up joining Villa, with Monchi a big driving force behind the deal.
Elliot was seen as Villa’s marquee signing of the summer, and fans won’t be best pleased with that latest developments.
Elliot has come off the bench in two Premier League games for Aston Villa, with Emery currently favouring the likes of Emiliano Buendia and Evann Guessand over him.

Unai Emery may need to play Harvey Elliot to keep his job
Elliot netted one of Villa’s only two goals scored this season against Brentford in the Carabao Cup.
Despite being Villa’s most threatening player, Elliot was hooked after 67 minutes, as Emery’s side were then sent crashing out of the competition on penalties.
Next up for Villa is Bologna on Thursday night, a game in which Emery simply has to change things up, whether that be formation or players.
Villa also plays Fulham in the league on Sunday, as the next two games will be a good indication as to what Elliot’s role will be for Villa while Emery is in charge.
