Damian Vidagany sends emotional message as latest Aston Villa exit now confirmed
Damian Vidagany is a well-respected figure at Aston Villa.
Vidagany hasn’t been afraid of speaking out about Villa, having made his feelings very clear about PSR at Villa Park over the past 12 months.
The Spaniard’s passion has been seen in recent weeks as Vidagany hit out at Morgan Rogers’ exit links at Villa, as a move to Tottenham looked to be on the table.
With that being said, the Director of Football Operations has remained quiet in recent weeks while Unai Emery has come under sack pressure at Villa.
Emery hasn’t yet moved on from B6, although Vidagany has now spoken out to share an emotional message after confirming a departure from the Midlands.
Damian Vidagany sends personal message to Monchi
After such a terrible summer transfer window and start to the season, change was always going to be in the pipeline for the Villans.
This has now seen Monchi’s exit from Villa be confirmed, as Roberto Olabe was immediately brought in as a replacement as President of Football Operations.
It is fair to say that this hasn’t come as a surprise after the frustration of the summer, although some fans see this as the beginning of the end of the Emery era.
Many suggested that there must have been some sort of bust-up behind the scenes, although the latest reaction from Vidagany suggests otherwise.
This has seen the Spaniard speak out via X on 24 September to share a thank you message to Monchi for his work at Bodymoor Heath.
He said: “A true gentleman and a great professional that really cares about Villa. Good luck, my friend. Thank you for so many good moments.
“We will keep working hard now with Unai, Roberto and all the staff to be at the level that the club and the fans deserve. Up the Villa!”
Monchi had some positive moments at Aston Villa
There has been some frustrating signings under the reign of the ex-Sevilla man, but there have also been some positive additions.
Aston Villa summer transfer business:
- Jadon Sancho (loan)
- Harvey Elliott (loan)
- Victor Lindelof (Free)
- Evann Guessand
- Marco Bizot
Arguably, the best comes in the shape of Morgan Rogers, who has proven to be a huge bargain, despite his poor start to the campaign.
Pau Torres fits a similar mould after having a positive spell in the Midlands, but has begun to struggle in recent months under Emery.
There have been a number of frustrating and poor signings, although this has now opened the door for Olabe to help change the tide in B6.
