Aston Villa ‘fuse has been lit’ over explosive Unai Emery development – Richard Keys
Unai Emery is beginning to come under severe pressure as Aston Villa manager.
Following Monchi’s headline departure, Emery’s future is also up in the air at Villa Park.
The Spaniard’s side have been unrecognisable so far this season, having yet to win a game as Villa sleepwalk towards relegation trouble unless their form radically changes.
Villa’s 1-1 draw with Sunderland on Sunday means they have now gone six games without a win to begin the new campaign, with Richard Keys providing his thoughts on the dire situation unfolding.

Unai Emery throws Aston Villa players under the bus
Despite Simon Jordan feeling Monchi had been “hyped up” too much, his Villa Park exit creates more controversy and negativity, which is the last thing this struggling Villa side needs at the moment.
On his personal blog on 23 September, Keys shared his thoughts on Villa’s latest draw, which embarrassingly came against a ten-man Sunderland, who have only just recently been promoted.
“Clearly, all is not well there,” Keys said.
“Things won’t have been helped by Emery’s assertion that his players were ‘lazy’ at Sunderland. The fuse has been lit.”
The supporters welcomed Emery’s comments after the game. Still, it remains to be seen if the likes of Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers use this as motivation or go into their shells even further, with the pair being particularly quiet so far this season.

Unai Emery’s comments do not bode well for his future at Villa
The minute a manager begins to take the criticism of his players to the media, it usually spells the beginning of the end for their tenure in charge.
Despite all Emery has achieved in B6, this appears to be no different, as the 53-year-old will be on borrowed time, especially if their Europa League campaign gets off to a losing start on Thursday.
The man who restored the Villans’ place in Europe could soon be shown the door in a twist no supporter could have predicted only a few months ago.
If Emery wants to keep his job, he must desperately find a solution to get Villa back to their best, but even this could be a step too far, even for one of Europe’s most impressive managers.
Unfortunately for Villa, it does appear that the fuse has in fact been lit.
