Unai Emery problems about to go from bad to worse amid worrying Aston Villa reveal
Aston Villa are still waiting for their first Premier League win of the season.
Villa drew 1-1 with ten-man Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Sunday, with Matty Cash scoring their first goal of the season.
Unai Emery was visibly frustrated with Villa’s performance as they were pegged by Sunderland, who played more than half with a man less.
The Spaniard walked down the tunnel before the final whistle blew, in scenes that will surely worry Villa fans.

Aston Villa damning stat revealed after poor Premier League start
Emery’s frustrations are understandable given his side’s performances so far this season.
Villa’s poor start to the season has been extremely surprising, and the stats reveal just how shocking they have been.
As per Opta, before the 2025-26 Premier League season began, every team’s opening five fixtures were assessed and Aston Villa’s start was deemed the easiest.
Villa have played Newcastle and Crystal Palace at Villa Park, and travelled to Brentford, Everton and Fulham, only picking up three points.
The major worry is that Villa’s terrible start has come from the easiest run of any side, meaning Emery’s problems could be set to turn worse before they get any better.
Emery needs to find solutions to this poor run, but he needs help from some of his misfiring stars.
Unai Emery is being let down by Aston Villa players
Alongside Emery, the Villa players have to shoulder some of the responsibility for the awful start.
Morgan Rogers has looked really poor so far this season, while Ollie Watkins‘ form in front of goal is still nowhere to be seen.

New signing Evann Guessand has been a massive let-down so far, and looks completely off the pace.
Emery is no doubt the man for the job at Villa, but things need to turn around quickly, or fans may start calling for his head.
