‘Clueless’ – Aston Villa react to Jadon Sancho debut, they’re not happy
Some Aston Villa supporters have already had enough this season, and we’re not even in October.
The summer transfer window was a well-documented failure by Monchi and NSWE, and this seemingly derailed Villa’s season before it had even begun.
On the pitch, Unai Emery’s side looks flat, with two draws and three defeats in their opening five games; the most recent defeat saw Villa eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Brentford on penalties.
Whilst Harvey Elliott impressed during his first start for Villa, the same cannot be said for Jadon Sancho, with supporters sharing their thoughts on the winger’s performance.

Aston Villa fans less than impressed with Jadon Sancho debut
For the Villa supporters who labelled the Manchester United loanee’s performance poor, the stats would support the fact that Sancho struggled.
Despite Emery’s efforts to play down Sancho’s failures on his debut, the early signs are concerning regarding Villa’s deadline day signing.
Many supporters were convinced the moment Sancho walked through the door at Villa Park, and his performance against Brentford will only exacerbate these worries.
When Villa posted that Sancho was being substituted off on X, one supporter replied, “Wait, Sancho was playing?”
Another supporter labelled Sancho “clueless” as he failed to make a positive first impression.
Another Villa account tried to take a more positive outlook on Sancho’s debut, posting a video of his highlights from the game.
This optimism was evidently not shared by the majority of the fanbase and was quickly shot down in the replies to the video.
One fan sarcastically replied, “some highlight reel that”, followed by a laughing emoji.

Aston Villa fans should have their reservations about Jadon Sancho
Considering their lack of investment, Villa’s season arguably relies on Sancho finding his old form to add another much-needed attacking threat to Emery’s side.
However, at just 25, Sancho looks to be a player already past his sell-by date and has not been the same since he moved back to the Premier League in 2021.
After all the positive work Emery and Monchi have done over recent seasons, it looks as though it could come crashing back down, and the signing of Sancho on deadline day backfiring could be one of the catalysts of their collapse.
