Aston Villa in ‘eye-raising mystery’ as Morgan Rogers concern emerges already
Morgan Rogers has been far from good enough for Aston Villa this season.
Rogers was superb for England against Serbia, fueling further annoyance at his lack of output at Villa Park so far this campaign.
This saw the attacking midfielder struggle as Villa drew 0-0 against Everton, as their historic goalless streak continued under Unai Emery.
Ironically, Rogers was central to controversy with Simon Hooper against Everton, arguably being the most notable element of his showing on Merseyside.
This has seen question marks emerge around Rogers, something which could be down to what went down in the summer window in B6.

Villa News presents the exclusive opinion of iconic football commentator Ian Darke.
Morgan Rogers’ poor form sparks from transfer window
There was no lack of exit links for the attacking midfielder throughout the summer, with Chelsea showing an interest in Rogers frequently.
Despite this, the Englishman stuck around and remains as one of the most important players for the claret and blue outfit.
With that being said, the 23-year-old has struggled this campaign, failing to contribute to a single goal, like every other Villa player, despite playing the joint-most minutes so far.
Darke believes this lack of form comes down to the frustration surrounding Jacob Ramsey and his £40million move to Newcastle United earlier in the window.
The commentator believes this has played a role in Rogers’ struggles, which could soon end after securing a point against Everton last time out.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Darke said: “This season, they’ve had a sticky start and haven’t scored a goal.
“It’s an eye-raising mystery when you consider the players they’ve got around the club.
“Villa have been under a cloud and everyone knows about their financial constraints, forcing them to sell Jacob Ramsey to Newcastle.
“I think that has left a cloud that has been reflected in performances from someone like Rogers.
“I think it’s only a matter of time before they burst into form. They picked up a useful point at Everton, so that could be the start of a turning point.“

Morgan Rogers must improve at Aston Villa
He may have looked good for England, but continuous poor performances in B6 won’t help his World Cup chances.
Rogers has to be on top form and return to his level from last campaign if he is to maintain a place in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the upcoming tournament.
That hasn’t been seen so far this campaign, but the backing is still there from Emery, and as a result, he will be given plenty of time to turn things around.
It will certainly be interesting to see if the ex-Manchester City youngster can do that, especially with clashes against Brentford and Sunderland coming up.
