Unai Emery loses grip at Aston Villa as ‘complicated’ development emerges at Villa Park
Unai Emery could come under increasing pressure after a poor start to the season at Aston Villa.
The international break arguably came at a good time at Villa Park, after Crystal Palace secured a 3-0 win over Villa for the second time in as many meetings.
Gabby Agbonlahor slammed Villa fans after the Palace defeat, summing up just how poor the atmosphere was surrounding B6.
Now, Villa are looking ahead to a clash against Everton, where anything but a win would only add to the frustration around the claret and blue outfit right now.
This could see scrutiny pile on Emery, whose control could slowly drift away should the poor performances continue in the Midlands.

This article includes exclusive comment from former Aston Villa employee Bryan King.
Unai Emery facing new problems at Aston Villa
There is no getting away from the difficulties that the Villans have faced in the opening weeks of the Premier League season, despite initial optimism.
Frustration from the transfer window has been mirrored onto the pitch, something which should hopefully change after Harvey Elliott signed for Villa from Liverpool alongside Jadon Sancho and Victor Lindelof from Manchester United.
With that being said, this trio of signings aren’t a guarantee of positive change, something which could ultimately reflect badly on Emery.
This has seen former Villa scout King suggest that the Spaniard could be losing his way at Villa Park after such a poor start to the year.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, King said: “The things with Villa at the moment all seem a bit complicated.
“There are players in key positions who are starting to make negative waves.
“Has Emery started to lose his grip there potentially?
“They seem to have problems off the pitch, and there’s not that air of confidence at the moment surrounding the manager.
“It was only six months ago that people were saying that he was probably the best manager that Villa have ever had.”

Could Aston Villa really sack Unai Emery?
The simple answer should be no, but in the world of football, that is never the case.
Should Villa go into upcoming clashes against Everton, Fulham and Sunderland and come away without at least one win, there have to be serious questions asked of Emery.
Sometimes, his stubbornness can be his worst trait.
This was on show against Crystal Palace as the tactical approach became unclear, while Morgan Rogers remained on the pitch despite a shocking performance.
It will certainly be interesting to see how Villa line up after their deadline day business and what that could mean for the 53-year-old head coach.
There is no world where fans can see Emery being sacked as he has so much credit in the bank, but questions may be raised if this sort of form and performance level continues.
