Aston Villa are set to participate in the Europa League this season under Unai Emery.
Whilst some supporters will be disappointed that Villa narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Champions League, the fact that the Villans will partake in European competition for the third season in a row is a testament to the good work Emery has done in B6.

Opta’s supercomputer predicts Emery to lift the trophy for a fifth time this season with Villa, as they have been given a 21.6 per cent chance of winning the Europa League.

- They are said to have a 51.4% chance of making it to the semi-final
- Villa’s chances of making it to the quarter final sit at a whopping 71.9%
If Villa were to win the Europa League in 2026, it would come exactly 30 years after the club last got their hands on silverware, when they defeated Leeds United in the League Cup final in 1996.

To date, the only European trophy Villa have won in their 151-year history is the European Cup in, now known as the Champions League, in 1982.
Villa defeated Bayern Munich 1-0 in Rotterdam to win the greatest honour club football has to offer.
Fast forward to this season, and Villa will know they have to capitalise on the fact that they are considered favourites to win the Europa League, and they cannot afford to squander this opportunity.
