Matty Cash’s dad shares fitness update from Poland ahead of Everton vs Aston Villa
Aston Villa right-back Matty Cash picked up a fitness issue on international duty with Poland.
Cash netted for Poland before coming off injured at half-time against Finland, raising alarm bells at Villa Park ahead of a return to Premier League action.
This will have been all the more frustrating for the right-back, given that Cash had also scored for Poland against the Netherlands in the first fixture of the break.
The claret and blue faithful have since questioned whether the 28-year-old will feature in Unai Emery’s squad as Villa travel to face Everton on 13 September.
Now, Cash’s current state has been revealed by his father ahead of the Villans’ trip to Merseyside in the coming days.

Matty Cash injury update shared at Poland
There has been varied reviews about the full-back throughout his time in B6, but there is no doubt he is a guaranteed starter when available right now.
With that being said, if he were to be absent for the upcoming clash, Victor Lindelof could be forced into his Villa debut against Everton.
This would undoubtedly be a risk for Emery and Co., so there will be increased hopes that the Polish defender will be available to face the Blues.
Initial reports after the qualifier against Finland suggested that his problem was an impact injury after coming into contact with an opponent’s knee.
This has since been described as a “minor problem” by Cash’s dad, Stuart, who spoke about the defender’s injury via Sport.pl on 8 September.
He said: “Everything is fine with his health. In the match against Finland, he had a minor problem with a muscle strain, which is why he had to come off at half-time.
“The manager didn’t want to take any chances. However, as far as I know, it won’t affect his next Premier League match. He should be ready to play this weekend.”

Aston Villa need Matty Cash vs Everton
The Midlands outfit have a strangely great record against the Toffees, going unbeaten since being promoted back in 2019.
With that being said, this season represents a much sterner test with Moyes in charge and a host of quality players at his disposal.
Everton attacking options this season:
- Beto
- Thierno Barry
- Iliman Ndiaye
- Jack Grealish
- Tyler Dibling
- Carlos Alcaraz
- Dwight McNeil
- Merlin Rohl
Former Villa skipper Jack Grealish is one of those, and his impact on Everton’s left and Villa’s right could prove to be devastating.
As a result, having a recognised and senior right-back option involved could prove to be pivotal, and that is exactly what Cash will provide.
