Birmingham hero Jude Bellingham has already raved about ‘important’ Aston Villa signing
Aston Villa supporters aren’t known for being fans of Jude Bellingham due to his Birmingham City links.
There is no love lost between the Villans and Blues, despite going over six years without facing each other, with Jack Grealish scoring the winner for Villa last time out.
This hatred has most recently been on show as Ashley Young rattled Birmingham fans with Ipswich Town as he made his debut for the Tractor Boys.
Jed Steer also dealt a blow to Birmingham as his Peterborough United side secured a Wembley win in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, sparking cringey scenes from Tom Wagner in the royal box.
With these antics in mind, it is interesting to learn of comments from Bellingham which discuss a new Villa Park signing in such glowing terms.

Jude Bellingham loves Aston Villa deadline day signing
It has to be said that the summer window was hugely frustrating for Unai Emery and Co. due to various financial concerns.
Ahead of the window’s closure, Evann Guessand was Villa’s only outfield signing, but that ultimately changed on deadline day.
This saw Villa sign Harvey Elliott on loan from Liverpool alongside a temporary switch for Jadon Sancho and a free transfer for Victor Lindelof.
It is the winger signed from Manchester United whom Bellingham has heaped praise on, with the Englishman coming off the back of a positive campaign at Chelsea.
With that being said, it is Sancho’s spell at Borussia Dortmund which saw him and the former Birmingham City man link up and form a relationship.
This saw the current Real Madrid star say: “[Jadon] Sancho is really important for me
“Not only because he comes from the same country as me, or because he speaks the same language. What’s more important is how he puts his arm around me, but also around the other young players, how he encourages us in our abilities, and how he gives us confidence.
“He is a great role model for English players of my age. To receive praise and encouragement from him means an awful lot to me. It helps me a lot.”

Jadon Sancho could reignite career at Aston Villa
It can’t be forgotten just how good the Englishman was throughout his days on the flank for Dortmund after a surprise move from Manchester City.
He certainly performed well and opened up a route for young English talents to move to the Bundesliga and pick up regular minutes in a top league.
Jadon Sancho stats | 2018/19 | 2019/20 | 2020/21 |
Appearances | 43 | 44 | 38 |
Goals | 13 | 20 | 16 |
Assists | 16 | 19 | 18 |
Bellingham ultimately followed this path, but things have gone on to be much more successful for the midfielder than his attacking counterpart.
As a result, the Real Madrid sensation and everyone involved at Villa Park will be keen to see more from Sancho when lining up under Emery this campaign.
It will certainly be interesting to see how the wide forward gets on in B6, but there is every chance that he fires himself back into the positive thinking of the wider footballing world.
