Aston Villa face possible unwanted legal dispute amid fallout from recent transfer
Aston Villa have had to deal with a lot of disappointment in this transfer window.
Unai Emery has to handle being rejected by many of his transfer targets, with Nicolas Jackson seemingly the latest to turn down Villa’s advances.
Villa fans have had to come to terms with the club selling Jacob Ramsey to Newcastle, as well as the countless rumours linking other star players with transfers.
Now, they are facing a potential legal dispute over a young player they have sent overseas on loan.

Aston Villa face potential legal battle over goalkeeper Oliwier Zych
Aston Villa recently sent young goalkeeper Oliwier Zych on a season-long loan to Polish side Rakow Czestochowa.
Zych, who hails from Poland, hasn’t made a first-team appearance at Villa Park, and it was hoped this loan deal would give him some much-needed first-team experience.
However, it hasn’t turned out that way. Zych has been forced to watch from the substitutes’ bench, as Rakow prefers to start another young goalkeeper Kacper Trelowski.

It had previously been thought that Trelowski would be sold, but that sale hasn’t materialised.
Villa are now trying to cancel Zych’s loan early, but Rakow aren’t letting it happen.
Polish football publication Meczyki.pl now suggests that a legal battle could form between the two clubs over the 21-year-old stopper.
Who is Oliwier Zych?
Oliwier Zych is a young Polish goalkeeper whose career remains defined by potential rather than achievement.
Zych joined Villa as a teenager, hoping to develop a long and established career with the Villans.
Zych was linked with a transfer to Arsenal in 2024, but remains contracted to Villa, despite having not yet made a first team appearance
- Full name: Oliwier Zych
- Date of birth: 28 June 2004
- Place of birth: Gdynia, Poland
- Position: Goalkeeper
- Aston Villa squad number: 48
He was loaned out to Polish club Puszcza Niepolomice in 2023-24 and made 26 appearances for them.
Villa are keen to give the 21-year-old more experience at Rakow Czestochowa, but it hasn’t worked out that way so far.
It’s unclear what promises were made by Rakow before this loan was agreed, but at least Villa are trying to do something to save him from a season rotting on the bench.
