Aston Villa fans will be raging with what Morgan Rogers has just posted on social media

Aston Villa are in a tough place right now.

Aston Villa lost 1-0 to Brentford on Saturday to continue their poor start to the Premier League season, as they are yet to find the back of the net after two games.

The performances on the pitch sum up what has been a dreadful summer for Unai Emery so far, who has also seen Jacob Ramsey reluctantly sold to Newcastle United for an initial £39million.

Villa were poor at the Gtech Community Stadium, and a social media message from Morgan Rogers will not go down well with supporters.

Morgan Rogers sends tone-deaf message to Jordan Henderson

Rogers was poor against the Bees in Villa’s 1-0 defeat, being kept quiet by Michael Kayode whilst contributing nothing on the defensive end.

Rogers, who was named PFA Young Player of the Year for 2024/25 last week, has yet to get going for Emery’s side this season after coming back from injury just before the opening game against Newcastle, which Villa drew 0-0.

Rogers was really poor against Brentford

After the game, the former Middlesbrough man posted to social media to send a message to his England teammate Jordan Henderson, who moved to the Bees this summer.

Rogers posted a picture of the two in a duel for the ball with the caption “Skip” with a love heart emoji, and tagged Henderson.

While he obviously meant no malice with the post, this could anger Villa fans, as sharing an image of someone from another team after a defeat isn’t a great look.

Villa need to click into gear quickly before the season becomes unsalvageable

Villa’s start to the season is the worst they’ve endured since their first season back in the Premier League in 2019/20, and the lack of signings is beginning to take its toll on the team.

Evann Guessand and Marco Bizot are the only major signings to arrive at Villa Park this summer, with the club’s high wage bill restricting them from buying talent after dealing with the threat of PSR.

However, Villa’s off-the-field problems shouldn’t dictate their play on the field, and Unai Emery needs to find a remedy for their poor form before they drift away from the European race entirely.
