Andres Garcia injury update emerges ahead of Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace

Aston Villa right-back Andres Garcia has not played a single first-team game this season.

Unai Emery has confirmed that the Spaniard is ruled out with an injury and was out of action during their pre-season campaign as well.

Garcia made his Aston Villa debut against Wolves on 1 February and, since then, has played a total of seven Premier League games.

Andres Garcia expected to be out vs Crystal Palace

Dr Rajpal Brar has stated that the lack of regular updates on the 22-year-old’s situation does not bode well.

He fears that Garcia could even be out with a long-term injury or that he is not responding well to the rehab.

Garcia’s last Aston Villa appearance was against Southampton back in April, and since then, he has been an unused substitute.

Speaking about his absence, Dr Brar told Villa News: “The fact that he missed the pre-season and friendlies and there hasn’t been much of an update, doesn’t bode well.

“That could mean it’s a longer-term injury or he isn’t responding well.

“It’s very likely that he misses the next match as well.”

Unai Emery must make the most out of Andres Garcia at Aston Villa

Once Garcia recovers from his injury for Aston Villa, Emery can transform him into one of the Premier League’s top right-backs by leveraging his tactical acumen and his natural attributes.

Emery should focus on honing the Spanish full-back’s defensive positioning through intensive drills, ensuring he masters one-on-one situations and anticipates opposition wingers’ movements.

Offensively, Emery can utilise Garcia’s pace and crossing ability by encouraging overlapping runs, integrating him into Villa’s fluid attacking system.

Regular game time, starting with substitute appearances, will rebuild his confidence and match fitness. Emery’s mentorship, emphasising adaptability and work rate, combined with tailored coaching to enhance decision-making under pressure, can elevate Garcia’s potential.

With Villa’s high-pressing style, Garcia could become a dynamic, complete right-back, dominating both defensively and in attack.
