Aston Villa launch Marc Casado transfer offer as Barcelona star set to ‘quadruple his salary’
Aston Villa have found themselves in a strong position to complete the signing of Marc Casado.
The Villans have found life difficult in the transfer market so far this summer, but with just over a week remaining until the deadline, they continue to work towards strengthening their squad.
Villa are also trying to fend off interest in Morgan Rogers once again, and their ability to balance pushing for targets with trying to keep hold of their key stars has been a constant theme of their summer.
Unai Emery’s side haven’t had events in the market go their way for the majority of the window, but that could be about to change as they pursue yet another target.

Villa join Wolves and Marseille in Marc Casado offer
Villa received a major boost when Boubacar Kamara penned a new deal a few weeks ago, as it ensured that they will keep hold of one of their most important midfielders for the foreseeable future.
However, that piece of business seemingly hasn’t stopped Monchi and Co. from exploring other opportunities to strengthen their options further in the middle of the park.
The B6 outfit are now understood to have made an offer for Barcelona’s Marc Casado, according to Spanish outlet El Pais.
- Casado started 20 games in La Liga last term and seven of his side’s 10 in the Champions League
- He notched one goal and six assists across all competitions
- He is primarily a holding midfielder
The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to several Premier League clubs over the last few days, but it is now being reported that only three concrete offers are on the table at the moment.
They come from Villa, Wolves and Marseille, with some thought to extend as high as £25.9million.
Barcelona are thought to be weighing up a “dilemma” over Casado. They don’t want to force him out of the door unless he wants to leave, but they also know that he will “devalue” if he doesn’t get much gametime.
The pair of Premier League offers are believed to potentially “multiply his salary by four,” which will surely give Villa a strong chance of being able to complete a deal.
Marc Casado is a big opportunity for Aston Villa
Villa’s signing of Rogers was the prime example of their attention to detail in the transfer market over the last few years.
They sensed a strong opportunity to snatch a gem on the cheap with the former Middlesbrough star, and a similar scenario could be about to play out with Casado.
The 21-year-old broke through into the Barcelona first-team last season, but is not expected to play as big a role this time around.
He notched seven goal contributions from the base of the midfield last term, but was an unused substitute in the opening day victory over Mallorca last weekend.
Casado already has plenty of Champions League experience and has the potential to develop significantly in the coming years.
He is a player who ordinarily would perhaps not be available for Villa to sign, so they must make the most of the opportunity that has come their way.
