Jack Grealish and Cole Palmer send messages to Morgan Rogers as Aston Villa star wins PFA award
Morgan Rogers was crowned PFA Young Player of the Year at the awards ceremony in Manchester on Tuesday.
The Aston Villa midfielder enjoyed a superb Premier League season, with Rogers attracting interest from the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal this summer.
But Rogers is expected to sign a new contract at Villa, in what will come as a massive boost for Unai Emery’s side.
The 23-year-old had been a doubt for the Premier League opener against Newcastle United after suffering an injury, and looked off the pace when he did start.

Rogers joined Villa from Middlesbrough in January 2024, and the midfielder had already begun to show his ability towards the end of the season.
The following season, however, the Englishman exploded into life, scoring eight goals and providing 11 assists in the Premier League.
And that is not to mention his contributions in the Champions League, where Rogers notched his first career hat-trick against Celtic.
His efforts earned him a nomination for the player-voted PFA Young Player of the Year award alongside Liam Delap, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri.
The 23-year-old has emerged victorious and took to Instagram on 19 August to celebrate the achievement.

Several notable players congratulated Rogers in the comments, including his England teammates – Chelsea forward Cole Palmer, Arsenal man Declan Rice, and Everton midfielder Jack Grealish.
Rice wrote that the award was “fully deserved”, and Palmer said: “My boy”.
Jack Grealish left a series of emojis, including one that featured the word “top” and the clapping hands.

Morgan Rogers will aim for team success now
Now that Rogers has received the first major individual award of his career, he will now look to focus on winning trophies with his team.
Villa will compete in the Europa League this season, a trophy Emery has won four times throughout his career.
- Unai Emery – Europa League wins:
- 2013/14 – Sevilla
- 2014/15 – Sevilla
- 2015/16 – Sevilla
- 2020/21 – Villarreal
But the FA Cup will also be in the sights of Rogers, after the England international was powerless to avoid his side losing at the semi-final stage last season.
