Tyrone Mings warns Aston Villa fans in cryptic message after Ramsey transfer confirmed
Jacob Ramsey has departed Aston Villa for Newcastle after 18 years with his boyhood club.
Ramsey joined the Villans aged six as a Villa fan and had some amazing moments in claret and blue, as he helped them become Premier League regulars again.
His future this summer had been in doubt, with Unai Emery’s side always facing the threat of needing to sell to raise money to comply with Profit and Sustainability rules.
There has been a lot of speculation surrounding Ramsey’s confirmed move to the North East, but his former teammate Tyrone Mings has tried to set the record straight.

‘You don’t know the half’ – Mings sends cryptic message to fans
There had been hope that Ramsey would sign a new deal at Villa Park this summer after multiple offers were presented to him.
Ramsey ultimately elected to leave for Newcastle, which has left supporters disappointed, and he has since received some stick.
In an Instagram story, Mings reposted Aston Villa’s official thank you to Ramsey and wrote: “Don’t want to hear any bad words or anything negative on this name.
“You don’t know the half.”
He also added in another story: “Till the bitter end, little bro, go smash it.”
- Ramsey joined the Villans aged six
- During his professional Villa career, he has made 137 appearances, scored 14, and assisted 12
After interest earlier in the summer, there had been doubts over whether Villa would extend Ramsey’s contract.
His career really kicked off in the 2022/23 season as he provided six goals and seven assists in the Premier League.
His injury record over the last couple of seasons has hindered his progress, as he still managed to make 29 appearances last season, scoring once and assisting another three.
Ramsey had fallen behind the likes of Marco Asensio and Morgan Rogers in the Villa ranks, which may have influenced his move away.

Ramsey’s exit could pave way for Asensio’s return
Mings’ cryptic message implies that Ramsey wasn’t pushing for a move away.
Perhaps he was still in negotiations over signing a new contract when Newcastle came in for him, and the Villans’ talks were on hold with the potential to make some much-needed money.
Ramsey’s exit could now pave the way for Asensio‘s return to the Midlands.
The Spaniard isn’t wanted at PSG, and Emery has been linked with a return for Asensio, and Ramsey’s exit may have financed another potential move.
