Youri Tielemans transfer news shocks ex-Aston Villa man after what he’s heard
Youri Tielemans has been linked with a shock exit from Aston Villa in recent days.
The Villans have spent a large chunk of their summer fending off interest in their key players, with the likes of Ollie Watkins and Morgan Rogers consistently tipped to move elsewhere.
Tielemans is the latest Villa star to be linked with a move, as Turkish giants Fenerbahce are understood to have submitted an offer to the second city outfit in the last few days.
Unai Emery’s side struggled against Newcastle on the opening day of the new Premier League season, and they will be higely concerned by the prospect of losing a key midfielder.

This article includes exclusive comment from former Aston Villa scout Bryan King.
Tielemans exit rubbished amid Fenerbahce links
Tielemans hasn’t ruled out leaving Villa this summer, but Fenerbahce is certainly an unexpected link.
Jose Mourinho’s side finished a distant second to Galatasaray in the Super Lig last term, and they appear intent on targeting ambitious additions this summer.
Tielemans has reportedly received contact over a potential move, with former Villa Park hero Jhon Duran trying to convince him to make the switch to the Istanbul-based side.
- Tielemans now has over 215 Premier League appearances to his name
However, ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – believes that a move to Fenerbahce simply would not appeal to the Belgian, given his current level of importance in B6.
“Why would he (Tielemans) want to go to Fenerbahce?” King said.
“He’s playing every week in the Premier League, and he’s playing for Belgium when he’s fit.
“You can see the crowd’s response to him at games and I think he’s got such a good relationship with Aston Villa and the crowd.
“There’s no logic in that move at all.”

Tielemans has no price at Aston Villa
Tielemans has become one of Villa’s most important players, and it is no exaggeration to suggest that there is likely no price that would convince them to sell him in the final few weeks of the window.
- Tielemans played more progressive passes than any other Villa player last season
- He also won more tackles than any of his teammates
- He is one of the first names on Emery’s teamsheet, having started 35 of the 38 Premier League games in 2024/25
The former Leicester man has taken his game to new levels since his move across the Midlands, and he is now one of the first names on the teamsheet for Emery.
He is the Villans’ most creative midfielder by some distance, and he provides a quality on the ball that is unmatched across the rest of Emery’s options in the middle of the park.
Villa have worked so hard to keep hold of their stars this summer, so to lose Tielemans at this stage would be a critical blow that they simply cannot afford.
