Amazing Ozzy Osbourne mural makes debut outside Villa Park ahead of Newcastle game
Aston Villa fans will get their first sight of a fitting tribute to Ozzy Osbourne outside Villa Park when attending Saturday’s clash with Newcastle United.
Villa fan Osbourne died on 22 July at the age of 76 after suffering a heart attack.
Villa Park hosted Black Sabbath in their farewell show shortly before Osbourne’s passing in what was a fitting last performance for the Brummie rock god.
Osbourne will be forever remembered by the Villa faithful, and a new mural will ensure his legacy continues to live on.

Ozzy Osbourne mural commissioned at Villa Park
Villa fans unfurled an impressive tifo of Osbourne last season ahead of a Champions League game with Celtic.
The tifo in the Holte End included the words “Up the Villa” around Osbourne’s head, with images from Villa Park going viral at the time.
Well that same image is now part of the mural which is located outside the Holte Pub, with an image being shared by The Athletic’s Jacob Tanswell on X (16 August).
Many will be eager to take a picture of the mural, or with the mural, before the clash against Newcastle United on Saturday.
Villa can pay tribute to Osbourne in best way possible
Osbourne was one of a kind and will never be forgotten.
Villa fans will no doubt continue to pay tribute to the heavy metal great, and the players can do likewise by ensuring this is a season to remember.
- Ozzie Osbourne was born John Michael Osbourne on 3 December, 1948
- He grew up in the Aston area of Birmingham
- Osbourne picked up the nickname ‘Ozzy’ in primary school
After narrowly missing out on Champions League qualification last season, finishing in the top four has to be the goal this time around.
That is an extremely tough ask, of course, as Villa’s transfer struggles this summer are well documented, with Jacob Ramsey now expected to join Newcastle.
All fans ask is that the players given their all, which starts with the visit of Newcastle. Eddie Howe’s side have themselves had problems to deal with this summer, so the feeling is very much mutual.
