Aston Villa Fantasy Premier League guide: Most expensive and most selected players
Aston Villa have one of the most exciting squads moving into the new Premier League season.
The Villans have managed to get to this stage of the summer without losing any of their star names, despite heavy transfer interest throughout the window.
Even with that being the case, a patchy pre-season record under Unai Emery may raise more questions than it answers ahead of the opening-day clash against Newcastle United next Saturday.
Before then, fans will need to have secured their Fantasy Premier League teams ready for the first game week, kicking off with Liverpool against Bournemouth on Friday.
Ahead of the team selection deadline, Villa News looks into the priciest stars and most selected to come out of Villa Park over the summer.

Ollie Watkins is most expensive asset at Aston Villa
There is no getting away from the number of high-profile players that wear claret and blue on a weekly basis right now.
As a result, the Villans have a number of stars who come in at a high price in FPL and will set owners back a pretty penny from their £100million starting budget.
There are none more so than Watkins for Villa, with his price set at £9m to begin the new season in FPL – the third highest for a forward in the entire league.
Who joins Watkins as the most expensive forwards in FPL?
- Erling Haaland – £14m
- Alexander Isak – £10.5m
- Viktor Gyokeres – £9m
There is then a sizable drop to his closest teammate with Morgan Rogers, who comes in at £7m as the second priciest option in the West Midlands.
Having been substituted just minutes after coming on against Roma in pre-season, many players may be put off by that price if a spell on the sidelines is incoming.
This attacking duo are then joined by new signing Evann Guessand who, after his move from OGC Nice, has been priced at a reasonable £6.5m and has surprisingly been listed as a midfielder.
Name | Position | Current price (£) |
Ollie Watkins | Forward | 9.0m |
Morgan Rogers | Midfielder | 7.0m |
Evann Guessand | Midfielder | 6.5m |
Youri Tielemans | Midfielder | 6.0m |
Leon Bailey | Midfielder | 5.5m |
The lower end of the price bracket doesn’t show many bargains for Villa, with only youngsters and fringe players like Lino Souza, Lamare Bogarde, Alex Moreno and Andres Garcia rated as £4m players.

Ezri Konsa tops selection charts
It may come as a shock to many, but it is Konsa who is the most selected man from the claret and blue outfit at this stage of the summer.
With a selection rate of 23.8 per cent, the 27-year-old is the fourth most picked defender in all of Fantasy Premier League, most likely due to the new point scoring rules which will see centre-back’s score more points than in years gone by.
Who is ahead of Konsa as the most selected defenders?
- Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 30.6 per cent
- Jeremie Frimpong – 27.7 per cent
- Virgil van Dijk – 24.4 per cent
The £4.5m England international ranks ahead of attacking talents Rogers and Watkins for the Villans, who have a 21.2 and 18.7 choice rate respectively at this stage.
Unfortunately, on the flip side of this, Samuel Iling-Junior currently sits as the least selected man from B6 at £5.5m, being picked in zero per cent of users’ teams.
Name | Position | Price (£) | Selected (%) |
Samuel Iling-Junior | Midfielder | 5.5m | 0.0 |
Evann Guessand | Midfielder | 6.5m | 0.1 |
Emi Buendia | Midfielder | 5.5m | 0.1 |
Lewis Dobbin | Midfielder | 5.0m | 0.1 |
Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba | Midfielder | 4.5m | 0.1 |
This is followed closely by summer signing Guessand who has only been picked in 0.1 per cent of sides, although that number is only likely to rise as he becomes more established in English football.
The Ivory Coast international’s selection will also be boosted by his midfield position, something which could make him a huge asset if he is to play as a number nine for Villa in the upcoming campaign.
