Boubacar Kamara’s new wage and bonus structure revealed as Aston Villa finalise contract
Aston Villa have seen their transfer window largely centre around the need to fend off interest in their key players.
Unai Emery has built a squad of great quality in B6, but that unsurprisingly means he also has several players at his disposal who are seen as being desirable for other clubs.
Ollie Watkins and Emi Martinez are just two Villa stars who have been heavily linked with a move away, but there has also been speculation surrounding the futures of the likes of Morgan Rogers and Leon Bailey.
The Villans have developed drastically as a club in the last few seasons, and facing interest from big clubs is part and parcel of that development.

This article includes exclusive comment from former Aston Villa scout Bryan King.
Kamara’s new contract could feature significant bonuses
One of the big success stories of Villa’s summer has been the decision to hand Boubacar Kamara a fresh new contract.
The midfielder was one of their most impressive performers throughout last season, and Emery will surely be delighted to see that his services have been retained until 2030.
However, given the Frenchman’s impressive performances last time out, it is unlikely to have been a low-cost deal for the second city outfit.
Ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – believes that Kamara’s new contract could see him earn a sizeable amount in bonuses, depending on the team’s success.
“He (Kamara) will be on at least £100,000 per week, that’s for sure,” King said.
“Plus one or two incentives. Qualifying for Europe, winning a cup, or certainly getting a Champions League place.
“I would imagine the bonuses within his contract will be pretty high.”
Aston Villa have an excellent options in the midfield
Kamara’s decision to pen renewed terms has been a major boost for Aston Villa, and it helps them to maintain the core of what is quietly becoming a very impressive midfield.
Player | Apps | G+A | Progressive Passes (per 90) | Pass Completion | Tackles Won (per 90) |
Boubacar Kamara | 26 | 1 | 4.43 | 88.6% | 1.09 |
Youri Tielemans | 36 | 10 | 6.99 | 82.2% | 1.73 |
Amadou Onana | 26 | 3 | 4.17 | 87.7% | 1.67 |
John McGinn | 34 | 5 | 4.17 | 81.9% | 0.97 |
The former Marseille star caught the eye last season, as did the ever-impressive Youri Tielemans.
However, Emery is blessed with a wealth of top-quality options to play in the engine room, with the likes of Amadou Onana and John McGinn also extremely capable Premier League players.
There will undoubtedly be a frustration at Villa Park that they have not been able to make significant additions to their squad so far, but if the Villans can end the summer with all their prized stars still in tact, it would surely be a successful window in the context.
