Jennings gets it totally wrong with latest Morgan Rogers to Chelsea claim
Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers has been linked with an exit throughout the summer.
The 23-year-old emerged as a star last season, notching 14 goals and 15 assists in 54 matches in all competitions.
That has led to interest from the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool, and many observers thought the Villans would have to sell him to avoid a Profit and Sustainability regulations breach.
However, so far, the Villa Park outfit have managed to retain his services.

Jennings loves Rogers, thinks Aston Villa have to sell him
Rogers is a player who has worked his way into the hearts of supporters and perhaps even Unai Emery.
It seems like he has done the same to Chelsea superfan and talkSPORT host Rory Jennings, who admitted that he would love the Villa playmaker to join his favourite team.
Speaking on the platform (28 July, 7:53pm), he said: “Morgan Rogers is exactly the type of player we should sign.
“I now have to adopt this mantra that the ownership have, the sporting directors want to sign young players who will increase in value, that they could potentially turn a profit on.
“But Morgan Rogers ticks their boxes, in terms of they want young players that will increase in value, but he ticks my boxes as well, I want players that will bring silverware to Stamford Bridge.
“I think he is a class act, and Villa need money as well.”
Aston Villa do not have to sell Rogers – they don’t have PSR worries anymore
The B6 outfit do not have to sell any star players this summer.
They have avoided a potential PSR breach by selling their Women’s team to V Sports, a company owned by their owners.
- While Villa avoided Premier League PSR punishment, they were fined £9.5m penalty by UEFA for breaching their squad cost rules.
That should give them more flexibility in the market and means that they can keep the likes of Rogers round for their attempt to qualify for the Champions League again.
Therefore, Jennings is wrong in his assumption that Emery’s side have to sell, so the Blues could nab Rogers.
That is not the case; they may still choose to sell some star players like Emi Martinez and Ollie Watkins, due to their situation with UEFA’s squad cost rules, which work differently, but Rogers will not be one of them.
In fact, the Villans are preparing to offer Rogers a new contract that will reflect his status at the club, so the rumour is just that, rather than being anything serious.
Jennings can dream about signing Rogers, but it is not happening anytime soon, Villa will be keeping their hottest prospect around for years to come, and his beloved Chelsea will not be getting their hands on him.
