Steven Gerrard reacts as five-year Aston Villa contract announced
Aston Villa fans haven’t had much to get excited about during this transfer window.
Throughout the summer, they’ve mostly had to suffer through news of missing out on transfer targets and rumours of other clubs wanting their biggest stars.
However, the club has finally announced some news that will delight supporters.

Villa announce a new contract for Boubacar Kamara
The Villans have announced that their midfield star Boubacar Kamara has signed a new contract at Villa Park.
The 25-year-old midfielder has agreed a five-year deal that will keep him at Villa.
Kamara has established himself as an important part of Unai Emery’s squad, and the new contract is well deserved.
His old contract ran until the summer of 2027, but Villa chiefs were clearly keen to confirm his long-term future at the club.
Fans rushed to congratulate Kamara once the new contract was announced on Villa’s social media channels, with many claiming it was the best news of the summer.
Former manager Steven Gerrard also reacted to the news, leaving a ‘like’ on Instagram.
Villa will look to build a winning squad around Kamara
It had been suggested that Villa might sell Kamara to balance their finances. The club were reported to be in danger of breaking Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) and the former Marseille man would attract a sizeable fee if he were sold.
The likelihood of Kamara leaving rocketed once it emerged that Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal were interested in signing him.

But now it seems that Kamara is set to remain at Villa Park for the long run. No doubt he’ll have been offered improved wages, even if his salary doesn’t reach the astronomical levels offered in Saudi Arabia.
It’s now up to Unai Emery to build a winning team around Kamara.
None of Villa’s first-team stars have been sold yet, despite the PSR rumours. That’s a great start.
The club has been linked with some big-name attackers in the transfer window, but Villa are yet to finalise a deal. This is the next step that will have fans even more excited for the future.
