Aston Villa apologise to supporters as update shared from Bodymoor Heath
Aston Villa fans have not enjoyed pre-season so far.
Despite Villa overcoming their PSR concerns by selling the women’s team, few players have been brought in.
In fact, Unai Emery’s only signing to date is Yasin Ozcan, a young 19-year-old centre-back.
On top of this, Villa’s form this pre-season has been awful, losing to both Walsall and Rostock.
Now, it seems that supporters’ fortunes are not set to change anytime soon.

Aston Villa confirm the entrance on Bodymoor Heath Lane remains unavailable for autographs
Despite the recent lows, Aston Villa currently have one of their best squads in their modern history.
Stars such as Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins helped the Birmingham outfit qualify for Europe for a third consecutive season in May.
As a result, many supporters are keen to meet these players, especially the younger generation.
However, Aston Villa have now confirmed on their website (23 July) that the entrance on Bodymoor Heath Lane to the training ground continues to be unavailable for supporters to congregate for autographs.
This is due to safety concerns compounded by ongoing construction works, resulting in heavy goods vehicles in and around the entrance.
At the end of the statement Villa apologised to supporters, stating: “The club would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank supporters in advance for their understanding.
“The club encourages players to sign autographs at Villa Park on a matchday after the game, while the Aston Villa Foundation also have access to signing sessions with the players for charitable causes.”

Villa need to make more effort with their supporters
While the works at Bodymoor Heath cannot be prevented, it is just one of many things Villa’s fans have had to endure.
Ticket price increases have caused widespread backlash from the Villa fanbase, with many supporters now being priced out of a seat.
While success on the pitch does come with consequences, more thought needs to go into fans’ needs.
Without supporters, Villa’s success would mean nothing, with the fanbase bringing the game to life week in, week out.
Hopefully, more will be done once the 2025/26 season kicks off the Birmingham outfit will look to accommodate Villa’s supporters more and help them feel like more than just a customer.
