Emery axes Kamara, Jimoh-Aloba starts – Aston Villa predicted XI v Frankfurt

Unai Emery could make one change to his Aston Villa starting line-up against Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Villans have gotten off to a poor start in their pre-season preparations so far, with a 1-0 loss to Walsall (16 July) and a 3-1 loss to Hansa Rostock (19 July).

They will hope to get back to winning ways against the Bundesliga outfit (26 July) ahead of the new campaign, in which they will play in the Europa League.

The clash with the German side is a look at the kind of competition that they will face in the competition.

Emery to drop Kamara for Frankfurt clash

The likes of Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Martinez are yet to be seen as Villa step up their pre-season regime.

Marco Bizot started in goal against Rostock, and he will likely get the nod again ahead of Filip Marschall.

Emery is expected to stick with a back three, with Lamare Bogarde, Tyrone Mings and Pau Torres featuring at the heart of the backline.

On the flanks, Andreas Garcia and Alex Moreno are expected to retain their places in the line-up after the clash with the 3.Liga outfit.

Boubacar Kamara was a standout player for the Villans last season but he might be dropped for John McGinn in this clash, in order to rest him for the new campaign.

Ross Barkley is expected to partner the Scotsman in the middle of the park with Jacob Ramsey predicted to feature in the number 10 role.

Two youngsters are predicted to lead the line, with Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba and Bradley Burrowes given a chance to start once again.

Aston Villa need to win against Frankfurt

Obviously, pre-season is all about fitness and ensuring that the squad is ready for the new season more than anything else.

However, given the fashion in which the B6 outfit have performed so far in their preparations, they need to beat their opposition this time out.

Otherwise, they risk heading into the new campaign without momentum, which could be disastrous for their ambitions of returning to the Champions League after narrowly missing out last season.
