‘Aston Villa fan has last laugh as Birmingham City reach transfer agreement’

Aston Villa and Birmingham City fans will never end their ongoing feud on social media.

The second city rivals have always had a bit of bite between them despite going over six years without playing each other.

In 2019, the two sides met with Jack Grealish scoring an iconic winner at St Andrew’s after being punched by a pitch-invading supporter.

Since then, Villa have made it into the Champions League, while the Blues claim jealousy from elsewhere over their newfound position back in the Championship.

This sort of attitude has been echoed by fans and players alike, with a member of the Villa Park faithful having the last laugh over in a summer transfer twist.

Alfie May makes himself look silly at Birmingham City

There is no getting away from the positive nature surrounding Chris Davies’ side after a number of high-profile signings in the second tier.

The likes of Demarai Gray, Kyogo Furuhashi and Tommy Doyle have certainly made for an excitable atmosphere surrounding B9.

As positive as this may prove to be, it looks destined to end with some of their League One favourites moving on this summer.

One name who has already confirmed an exit is Alfie May, who officially completed a move to Huddersfield Town on Tuesday (22 July).

This development has seen many Villa fans recount a run-in with the Blues striker and a fellow supporter over the number of Championship goals he will score next season.

The 32-year-old forward asked for a bet after it was suggested that he wouldn’t score more than net more than one strike in the second tier, he said: “Let’s have a bet geez?”

Considering the fact that the Englishman will be playing in League One again next season, it is fair to say that the claret and blue outfit has had the last laugh once again.

Aston Villa have last laugh over May

There seems to be a lot of discourse from the blue side of the second city towards the Villans, despite a lack of output from B6.

Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens have certainly kept to themselves since taking over at Villa Park and have done a superb job, there is no doubt about that.

By comparison, Aston Villa has been on the mind of Tom Brady ahead of his new flash Amazon Prime documentary, featuring Birmingham City as some sort of side piece, it seems.

Whatever is going on at St Andrew’s, it is always nice to see a Villa fan get one over on Blues, especially when it is directly with a player.
