‘Aston Villa could confirm Embolo steal’ amid £13m transfer development – Exclusive

Aston Villa could land the bargain signing of Breel Embolo this summer.

The Villans are in need of fresh attacking depth ahead of the new Premier League season, but to this point are yet to recruit a senior player in that area.

A free transfer has been sealed with Zepiqueno Redmond after his Feyenoord exit, but the teen is unlikely to make a huge impact this season.

With that being said, attention could be turned to the addition of a more senior option going forward at Villa Park, with a deal potentially possible with Monaco for Embolo.

Aston Villa could make Embolo swoop at Monaco

There is a job on the hands of Unai Emery and Co. to balance the wage books in B6 moving into the new season after an £11million fine from UEFA.

This is likely to explain the general lack of business to this point and could result in more astute business throughout the rest of the window.

As a result, a move for the Switzerland international could prove to be a bargain after reports emerged suggesting Monaco could let him go for just £13m this summer.

Former Brentford and Leicester City boss Martin Allen believes Villa should make a move for the 28-year-old to help hand the squad a boost ahead of a busy campaign.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Allen said: “We saw last year against Villa that he’s a good player.

If you can get him for that £13m, he could be a real steal.

When you’ve got the Europa League on as well as the Premier League, players do get tired and fatigue sets in.

That work needs to be spread around, and you need the squad to do it.

Embolo has the experience in Europe, Villa are growing, so that should be the sort of player they look at for their squad.

Embolo could represent coup at Aston Villa

In Donyell Malen, the Villans already have an attacking option who can play centrally or out wide, but a further addition wouldn’t go amiss.

This is certainly the case after Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford departed Villa Park at the end of their individual loan spells last campaign.

As a result, making a cut-price swoop for Embolo could prove to make perfect sense, especially considering his pedigree across Europe and on the international stage.
