Garnacho ‘excited to work with Unai Emery’ after Aston Villa transfer latest

Aston Villa are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements before the Premier League season begins.

The Villains were reliant on loan signings Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio at the back end of last season, but both players have now returned to their parent clubs.

Alejandro Garnacho had emerged as a key target earlier in the summer, although these rumours ironically faded after he posted a picture of himself in a Villa shirt on social media.

However, it’s now emerged that Villa are still interested in signing the Argentinian star.

In fact, they may be the favourites for his signature.

Garnacho ‘keen to work with Unai Emery’

Chelsea and Tottenham have emerged as possible destinations for Garnacho, who has been frozen out at Manchester United.

However, a report from TBR Football suggests he’s keener to join Aston Villa because he’s excited about the prospect of working under Unai Emery.

Emery has a history of being able to get the best out of young players, so it makes sense that Garnacho would be ready to work with him.

He would have seen his buddy Rashford resurrect his career at Villa Park last season and will hope to do the same.

Emery could get the best out of Garnacho if he wants him

Emery will be aware that he needs an injection of flair into his Villa squad. Garnacho would certainly provide that.

The Argentinian is undeniably talented, although he hasn’t been able to show consistency at Manchester United.

That’s normal for a player of his age, though. Garnacho is still only 21 and is crying out for a coach who can bring the best out of him.

Emery has the credentials to be that coach, if he’s ready to put up with the circus that seems to follow Garnacho.

It was thought that the Villa boss might be dissuaded by Garnacho’s attempts to force a move away from Old Trafford.

The Argentine has been accused of having an attitude problem, and that’s something which can affect the whole dressing room if a manager isn’t careful.

However, Rashford was facing similar accusations before he arrived at Villa Park – and thrived under Emery.

Villa haven’t bid for Garnacho yet, so it remains unconfirmed whether Emery wants to do business. With Chelsea and Tottenham also sniffing around, the Spaniard will need to make his mind up quickly.
