Morgan Rogers sends two-word message as massive surgery confirmed

Morgan Rogers has been a revelation for Aston Villa since his low-cost move from Middlesbrough.

The 22-year-old arrived from the Teeside club for a mere £8million, rising to a potential £15million with add-ons.

However, there has been talk of interest from other clubs, with Chelsea linked with a move for Rogers.

Liverpool are another club interested in the England international, while Villa do not want to sell him.

Morgan Rogers reacts to significant surgery news

Former Brentford manager Martin Allen exclusively told Villa News that he believes Rogers will be an Aston Villa player for years to come.

The former West Brom academy man has developed rapidly during his time at Villa Park and is now Unai Emery’s talisman.

Last season, Rogers notched 29 goal contributions in all competitions, including 19 in the Premier League.

Now, the 22-year-old will be striving to replicate his numbers next season for a place in Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup starting 11.

Rogers sent England teammate Jude Bellingham a supportive message on Instagram (18 July) after his surgery.

The Villa man said, “My brother,” followed by two heart emojis.

The Real Madrid man posted an image of himself recovering in London alongside a message thanking his surgery team as well as everyone else for their support.

Bellingham underwent surgery to address a long-standing dislocation and instability in his left shoulder.

Rogers can drive Aston Villa to Europa League title

If Emery’s side are to improve on last season’s progress, then they will need Rogers on form to do so.

The West Midlands club will once again be fighting on all fronts, with the Europa League a title they will be eyeing.

Not only are the Villans equipped to challenge for such a trophy, but they possess a manager who has won it four times.

Of course, the Premier League side will need to add further quality to their squad, especially if they are to lose any key players.

While they wanted Champions League football, Villa are primed to end their 29-year trophy drought.
