Alejandro Garnacho ‘paves way for Aston Villa move’ after Man United transfer twist

Alejandro Garnacho is primed for the Manchester United exit door, with Aston Villa one of several clubs linked with the winger.

It has been a controversial summer for the Argentine, who was pictured wearing a Marcus Rashford Villa shirt while in Ibiza.

Talk of the 21-year-old’s future has intensified after he was left disgruntled by his minutes in the Europa League final.

Now, the Villans have been given a welcome confidence boost in their pursuit of the United man after recent reports.

Garnacho makes feelings clear amid Saudi Arabia reports

The odds of Aston Villa signing Garnacho shortened after the controversy involving the Rashford shirt.

While he may have just been supporting his teammate, his decision understandably sparked talk of a move to the West Midlands.

However, ex-Villa scout Bryan King exclusively told Villa News that he believes there is a strong possibility that Garnacho will join Villa this summer.

Last season, the winger made 23 Premier League starts for the Red Devils, notching eight goal contributions.

Now, Garnacho has rejected the opportunity to pursue a move to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, according to Mike McGrath (13 July).

The Telegraph journalist states that Cristiano Ronaldo’s team held initial discussions to be part of the Saudi Pro League title challenge, but the Argentine wants to prioritise Europe.

Man United are allowing the 21-year-old to look at moves, meaning Villa have the opportunity to make an approach for him.

Emery needs more quality in attack after Rashford and Marco Asensio’s respective loan deals expired at the end of the season.

Aston Villa have route to Garnacho signing

With Garnacho shutting the door on Saudi Arabia, the Villa Park club presents a possible avenue for the Argentinian international.

Of course, there will be competition for the winger, with Chelsea and Napoli previously linked with the United man.

However, the Blues have since signed Jamie Gittens, meaning they may no longer need another left winger.

If Garnacho were to stay in England, then Villa must be viewed as the most realistic option for the 21-year-old.

There has been talk of United wanting £70million for Garnacho, which could be too steep for the West Midlands outfit.

However, the Villa Park club can test the Red Devils’ resolve with an opening bid of less to see just how much they want shot of him.

While he has been inconsistent, the Argentine would be a worthy option on the wing for Emery.
