Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers reacts as surgery update emerges after horror injury

Morgan Rogers is yet to return to training with Aston Villa.

The Villans have shared footage of their non-internationals returning to Bodymoor Heath this week as pre-season begins in the Midlands.

This doesn’t yet feature the 22-year-old who featured for over 110 minutes with England in the most recent break under Thomas Tuchel.

Now, Rogers has shared his instant reaction after a horrific injury development emerged away from Villa Park ahead of his training return.

After coming in from Middlesbrough, the attacking midfielder has been nothing short of superb under the tutelage of Unai Emery.

The Englishman’s importance was summed up last campaign as he featured across almost every available minute of Premier League action.

As a result, losing the ex-Manchester City youngster to injury would be devastating, just as it was many years ago with Jack Grealish and his persistent shin problems.

Looking ahead to pre-season, there doesn’t appear to be any reason why Rogers won’t be at Bodymoor Heath with the rest of his Villa teammates, whenever their return date is.

The same can’t be said for former England youth national teammate Jamal Musiala, who picked up a horrific ankle injury in the Club World Cup against PSG.

Since the incident, the Bayern Munich sensation has taken to Instagram (9 July) to reveal that surgery went well and is now looking ahead to building up his strength before a return.

This post was liked and commented on by the Villa man who shared three love heart emojis in support of the Germany international.

It is fair to say that the nature of the 22-year-old’s injury caught the attention of the footballing world, with those same fans keeping up to date with his upcoming recovery process.

One of those is bound to be the Villa star who has a prior relationship with the German, one which is clearly close.

With that being said, Musiala is also likely to have an eye on Rogers, especially as links to the likes of Chelsea continue to persist.

There is no chance that the B6 club will want to lose the Englishman, especially after being yet to complete an inbound signing to this point.
