Ally McCoist aims hilarious dig at Agbonlahor after Aston Villa outrage

Gabby Agbonlahor has remained a prominent figure in football since his retirement.

The striker ended his career as an Aston Villa legend after he spent his entire time at the Birmingham outfit.

Since then, the 38-year-old has gone on to become a pundit and mainly features on talkSPORT.

Here, the former striker has had many controversial opinions, such as Agbonlahor’s claim that Aston Villa will win the league before Manchester United.

As a result, the pundit has received plenty of backlash for these takes.

Ally McCoist claims Agbonlahor ‘isn’t bald’ after backlash

Going into the 2025/26 campaign, there is no doubt that expectations at Villa Park are high.

Unai Emery has now guided the Birmingham outfit to European football in three successive seasons, just missing out on Champions League football in the last campaign.

In comparison, Manchester United are in their worst state in many people’s lifetimes and finished 15th last season.

Therefore, the Red Devils are looking at some of Villa’s players to help rebuild their squad.

Emi Martinez has been strongly linked to Man United as they continue to struggle in their goalkeeping department.

As a result, Agbonlahor claimed that moving from Aston Villa to Man United is a backwards move, which prompted backlash online.

The pundit was quick to show one of these messages on his Instagram (8 July), which prompted a reply from Ally McCoist.

The Scotsman put: “You’re not bald, pal. That’s harsh,” followed by a kiss and a thumbs up emoji.

No Villa players should be considering moving to Manchester United this summer

Despite the criticism, Agbonlahor is right that moving to Man United would be a downgrade this summer.

The Manchester club are in a complete mess at the moment, and show no signs of even competing for Europe this season.

In comparison, Villa will likely be in the race for Champions League football again, and could easily win the Europa League.

Therefore, any of the Birmingham outfit’s main stars would be mad to leave Villa Park for Old Trafford this summer.
