Aston Villa gatecrash bid to sign Kevin Lomonaco ‘in the last few hours’
Aston Villa have entered the race to sign Kevin Lomonaco from Red Bull Bragantino.
The 23-year-old caught the eye last campaign after a hugely positive loan spell with Argentine outfit Independiente.
This saw the centre-back make over 40 appearances throughout his stint in his homeland, sparking the interest of a number of sides this summer.
A move to Villa Park could now be in the pipeline after the B6 club showcased a late attraction for a deal in the past 24 hours.

Aston Villa interested in Lomonaco deal
It does feel likely that the Villans will be keen on bringing in defensive reinforcements ahead of a return to Premier League and Europa League action.
This is especially the case after losing the versatile Axel Disasi at the end of his loan spell from Chelsea at the end of the campaign.
As a result, a number of targets have already been mooted in the Midlands, with no deals being completed in the backline as things stand.
Yasin Ozcan has come in at Bodymoor Heath, but at 19 represents a risk to come into the season as a regular fixture in the side.
This could see a move for Lomonaco make sense after a spell at Independiente, which certainly caught the eye of multiple clubs.

Successful passes | 873 |

Duels won | 104 |
Spanish outlet, La Nuevea Espana reported (2 July, page 43) that Mexican outfit Pachuca are interested in his signature alongside LaLiga giants Barcelona, as well as Real Betis and West Ham.
A deal is said to be “not easy” due to the potential cost of the Argentine, especially with Aston Villa now entering the race for the defender “in the last few hours”.

Lomonaco could decide on Aston Villa switch
With such a high level of interest in the defender’s signature, there is no doubt that he has a huge decision to make this summer.
It does feel as if a move to B6 would be one of the most attractive prospects for the Argentine, who could potentially link up with Emi Martinez at Villa Park.
This could see a move for Lomonaco depend on the future of the keeper, who has been strongly linked with an exit after five years in B6.
It will certainly be interesting to see who the 23-year-old joins and whether he does opt to become competition for Ezri Konsa and Pau Torres next season.
