Mason Mount suspicion emerges as Aston Villa look at transfer agreement – Exclusive
Aston Villa are in contention to sign Manchester United flop Mason Mount.
The English international starred for Chelsea after breaking through their academy, winning the Champions League with his boyhood club.
He then moved to Old Trafford and has struggled to recreate that form as injuries have hampered his time in the North West.
Unai Emery has already had success with one Red Devils reject after Marcus Rashford revived his career in the West Midlands, and he could repeat that trick.

Aston Villa warned against Mount deal
The Villa Park outfit are reportedly eyeing a deal for Mount, if he ultimately decides to move on from Ruben Amorim’s side.
However, iconic commentator Ian Darke believes that the Villans should avoid a move for Mount at all costs, with suspicions around his injury issues.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, he said: “No, I don’t think (Villa should make a move), Mason Mount has got to the stage where his career needs a coat of paint.
“He has had so many injuries, the suspicion would be, having played so many games when he was a young star for Chelsea and England, that is there is a bit of burnout there, you know, that his body is saying no.
“He just has not managed, apart from the odd cameo, and there has been the odd cameo to be fair to him, he is just not hitting the heights and does not look like the player that he used to be as a youngster.
“I think it would be quite the gamble to spend big on him.”

Villa must avoid Mount disaster
Monchi and Co are already going to be severely hampered in the transfer market by Profit and Sustainability regulations.
They should not be spending a significant amount of their budget on Mount, given their financial situation.
A deal for Liverpool star Harvey Elliott would be a much better use of resources if the Villans want a new attacking midfielder, rather than wasting their money on a United flop with little upside.
Mount may be set to stay with Amorim’s side to try and earn his place back, and that would be great news for the B6 outfit if it is the case.
