Agbonlahor not having Aston Villa player exit news he’s told amid PSR worries

Aston Villa have once again entered the summer transfer window with growing PSR concerns.

Despite Unai Emery guiding Villa to Europe via the Europa League, the Birmingham outfit may once again have to sell some of its prized assets.

Reports suggest that Villa may look to sell a big name before 30 June to avoid possible sanctions.

Emi Martinez has been linked with a Villa exit as rumours circulate on who could depart Emery’s squad this summer.

Agbonlahor adamant Morgan Rogers won’t be sold by Villa

Morgan Rogers has been an excellent player for Villa since he moved to the Birmingham club 18 months ago.

The winger netted 14 times and picked up 15 assists last season as he developed into one of Emery’s best players.

As a result, the 22-year-old’s future is uncertain, with multiple clubs looking to test Aston Villa’s resolve.

Chelsea are interested in purchasing Rogers this summer as they look to strengthen their attacking assets.

However, with a possible sale needed in the coming days, Ben Jacobs questioned on talkSPORT (26 June) whether Villa should sell Rogers this summer.

However, Gabby Agbonlahor was not impressed by the idea.

Jacobs listed players who could leave Villa to help comply with PSR and then said: “There’s a lot of interest also in a player like Morgan Rogers.”

Agbonlahor interjected with: “No chance.”

Emery will have a price for Rodgers

Like every player, Villa are likely to have a price for Rogers.

A departure would not be out of the question this summer, especially if a big bid is placed.

Villa are rumoured to demand around £100million for Rogers, which could help settle their PSR concerns for the foreseeable future.

While the sale could prove to be costly on the pitch, off it, it could help Emery finally have freedom in the transfer market.

Few of the Villa Park faithful will be happy if Rogers is to depart. However, it could be the best option for the Birmingham club to help it reach its long-term goals.
