Emery ‘must find Garnacho alternative’ as Aston Villa learn Man United demands

Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho, but a deal looks way off for now.

Garnacho was pictured wearing an Aston Villa shirt as his future looks set to be away from Man United, fuelling speculation that he could end up moving to Villa Park.

Aston Villa are looking for a new winger as Marcus Rashford does not appear likely to return following his loan spell, and the Argentinian is now a target.

However, it is now time for Unai Emery to look for alternative options on the left wing, as Man United have now set an asking price for Garnacho’s suitors this summer.

How much do Man United want for Alejandro Garnacho?

With Villa and other Premier League sides, including Chelsea, linked with Garnacho, Man United have now set out the conditions needed to sign him.

The Athletic (24 June) have now reported that Man United will demand a fee of around £70million to sell Garnacho this summer.

The 20-year-old has already made 144 senior appearances for United, but a fallout with Ruben Amorim now means his time at Old Trafford is all but over.

Despite his public standoff with United, they are demanding a premium fee for a player who was far from his best last season, and Villa should not bow down to their wishes.

Villa must find Garnacho alternative

With Villa struggling with PSR issues this summer, there is no way they can justify a huge £70m outlay on one player, particularly if that huge signing is Garnacho.

The winger scored just six Premier League goals last season as he struggled for consistency, and there is still a long way to go in his development.

For that kind of fee, Villa would want to sign a guaranteed hit, and someone who can take their front line to the next level. Garnacho would do neither, and this would be an incredibly risky move.

Garnacho’s attitude in recent months may also serve as a red flag, and Villa must simply move on to find a different target given his valuation by United.
