Alejandro Garnacho to Aston Villa: Three alternatives to Manchester United star
Alejandro Garnacho has emerged as a target for Aston Villa as he looks likely to leave Manchester United.
The Argentina international has created tension at Old Trafford after sharing an image of himself wearing a Marcus Rashford Villa shirt on holiday.
It is safe to say that this hasn’t gone down well with the Red Devils faithful, with many calling out for a sale as the 20-year-old continues to showcase a petulance.
With that being said, the winger’s attitude and social media antics may not wash well with Unai Emery who may then target other options.
Now, Villa News have assessed three options the Villans could look to sign ahead of Garnacho this summer.

Jesus Rodriguez represents an option for the future
It would prove to be a bold move to go from targeting a player like Garnacho with bundles of Premier League experience to someone with limited senior games under his belt.
That is the case with the Real Betis youngster who has made just 32 appearances since breaking into the first team in LaLiga.
This has seen him net three goals for the green and white stripes, while also becoming a key player for the Spain under-21s side.
If Monchi could agree a deal for Rodriguez, his electric pace and youthful nature could prove to be a dangerous weapon in claret and blue.
This would likely represent a cheaper alternative to the Man United outcast, it is yet to be seen which would excel the most in B6.

Igor Paixao could be ideal for Aston Villa
It is fair to say that wide men with attacking flair have tended to thrive under the Spaniard’s management over the years.
This is why the Man United man is wanted, but if that deal can’t be agreed, then the Feyenoord winger could prove to be an excellent addition.
The Brazilian has been in the Netherlands since 2022 and has gone on to have an excellent spell, winning three trophies in that time.
Paixao plays off the left and likes to cut inside onto his stronger right foot to then drive at goal, with an eye to score and create in equal measure.
This saw him net 18 and assist 14 in all competitions in the 2024/25 season, an output which could prove to be devastating in the Premier League and Europa League for Aston Villa.
Stat | 2024/25 | 2023/24 | 2022/23 |
Assists | 47 | 45 | 37 |
Goals | 18 | 12 | 9 |
Assists | 14 | 3 | 6 |
Rashford could make Aston Villa return
It could prove to be a risky move for the Villans, but having the England international at Villa Park on a permanent basis could prove to be devastating.
The 27-year-old showcased exactly what he can do under Emery throughout his loan deal and could replicate that after signing at the end of his temporary spell.
With that being said, a £40million buy option could be activated if a wage decrease can be agreed, to kickstart the summer window with a bang.
Signing two Manchester United players in one window would be unlikely for Villa, meaning a pick between Rashford and Garnacho could be on the table.
