Aston Villa sent message as contact made to sign Barcelona star Fermin Lopez
Aston Villa have been linked with a move to sign FC Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez in the summer transfer window.
Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has taken a look at the Spain international’s recent fitness record to assess whether or not he would adapt to life in the Premier League.

Lopez’s muscle issue is worth taking a closer look at
Villa would want to take a closer look at Lopez’s muscle injury history and see if it’s a recurring issue, according to Dr Brar.
The Spaniard will also need to adapt to life in the Premier League should he leave the Catalan giants.
Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News: “Villa may take a closer look at his recent muscle injury history from last season, particularly if it was a recurring issue.
“His game time was decent and he played more games than not, so that’s a positive.
“However, it’s hard to say how his adaptation to the Premier League will be as it’s a completely different ball game.“

Aston Villa must look to sign Lopez this summer
Lopez would be a quality signing for Aston Villa, bringing dynamism and versatility to Unai Emery’s squad.
His blend of technical skill, work rate and goal-scoring instinct makes him ideal for Villa’s high-pressing, fluid style.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Yellow Cards | Red Cards | Minutes Played |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
LaLiga | 28 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 1 | 1,245′ |
UEFA Champions League | 11 | 1 | 4 | 1 | – | 451′ |
Copa del Rey | 6 | 1 | 1 | 1 | – | 316′ |
Supercopa | 1 | – | – | – | – | 27′ |
Total 24/25 | 46 | 8 | 10 | 6 | 1 | 2,039′ |
The 22-year-old’s ability to play as an attacking midfielder or winger complements the Villa Park outfit’s ambitions in the Premier League and Champions League, adding creativity alongside Youri Tielemans and Morgan Rogers.
Lopez’s knack for breaking lines with dribbles suit Emery’s possession-based system.
His youth and potential resale value make him a smart investment for a club backed by ambitious owners.
With Barcelona’s financial constraints potentially forcing a sale, the Villa Park outfit could secure a future star to elevate their midfield and sustain their top-four push.
