Emi Martinez ‘wants to quit Aston Villa now’ as Man United change transfer plans
Emi Martinez is preparing to make the move away from Aston Villa this summer.
The goalkeeper has been a recent star for the Villans, but some disappointing performances last term suggested it may be the end of the road in his role as number one.
Although Villa may now be prioritising other areas, with PSR restrictions keeping them on a tight leash this summer, Martinez has seemingly decided where his future lies.

Martinez receives further Manchester United interest
With Villa looking to bolster their goalkeeping options this summer, Martinez has started to receive interest from elsewhere.
Manchester United have already made contact with Aston Villa over the potential of acquiring his services at Old Trafford.
However, a deal is far from being made, especially as the goalkeeper seeks more first-team opportunities that fly his way.
A change in plans for the Red Devils, though, could pave the way for the Argentinian to remain in the Premier League.
It has been reported by Fichajes (21 June) that Martinez is not closing the door on a move to Manchester United this summer, even though he will not get the opportunity to compete in European football.
Although the Red Devils were looking to bring in a new goalkeeper as a backup to add to the experience in their ranks, United have had a change of heart in their transfer plan.
Now, there could be the possibility for Martinez to make the move to Old Trafford to replace Andre Onana, who has had another poor season.
Unai Emery’s men are yet to receive a formal offer, but the contact with the player’s entourage is already underway.

Martinez in a sticky position
If Martinez makes a move to go to Manchester United this summer, it could well rub some supporters up the wrong way.

Given Ruben Amorim’s side finished 16th in the Premier League last season, it would certainly be a backwards step in the bigger picture.
However, if Martinez hasn’t got a future at Villa Park as number one then, at 32-years-old, it could be seen as one final opportunity to be a starting goalkeeper in his career, which could prove to be too tempting to turn down.
