Alejandro Garnacho ‘to clear Aston Villa medical’ as transfer decision made

Aston Villa have been linked with a move to sign Manchester United attacker Alejandro Garnacho this summer.

Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has assessed the 8-cap Argentina international’s fitness record ahead of a potential transfer.

Garnacho and Ruben Amorim are understood to be at odds, making an Old Trafford exit likely this summer.

Garnacho to have no issues in clearing his medical

The 20-year-old’s previous fitness record suggests that he should have no issues in clearing his medical.

Garnacho has decided he wants to be in the Premier League, amid interest from Villa, Tottenham and Chelsea.

It’s understood United are looking for £70million in order to part ways with the mercurial Argentine. (Daily Mail, 15 June)

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News: “He played 36 games in the league last season and his absences on two occasions were not due to injuries.

That’s an ideal scenario for any club looking to sign him.

Nothing in his prior injury record suggests that he’d face issues with his medical.

At 20, he’s already got decent international and Premier League experience, which holds him in good standing for a move.

Aston Villa cannot afford to sign Garnacho at £70m

Garnacho is a talented attacker but he’s clearly not one Aston Villa should look to break the bank for.

Last season, he managed to score just six league goals and provided two assists and was far from clinical in the final third.

He also had attitude issues with both Amorim and Erik ten Hag and his brother managed to isolate the fanbase against the 20-year-old with his antics on social media.

The dressing room at Villa Park is a positive place and signing Garnacho may risk changing that.

Also, Aston Villa just cannot afford to shell out £70million on one player this summer so it’s a non-starter if United do not budge.
