Aston Villa to ‘happily accept’ £20m Leeds bid for Emi Buendia – Exclusive
Aston Villa could demand a sizable fee from Leeds United to land Emi Buendia this summer.
The Argentina international is seemingly on his way out of Villa Park after spending the second half of last season with Bayer Leverkusen.
Across his 14 appearances, the 28-year-old put in some positive performances, but looks to have been scuppered by the departure of Xabi Alonso.
This could see Leeds step up their interest in Buendia in the window, as the Villans’ price tag demands have now been set out in B6.

There is no doubt about the quality that the attacking midfielder possesses and has shown throughout his stint in B6.
He joined the Villa from Carrow Road and has shown some flashes of brilliance, although injury worries have caused him problems in recent years.

This has certainly been the case under Unai Emery after the Argentine missed the entirety of the 2023/24 season after picking up an issue in pre-season.
The ex-Norwich City man has never truly recovered from that setback in the Midlands and could now see him complete an exit in the current window.
This now looks increasingly likely after ex-Leicester City and Brentford manager believes the Villans could demand up to £40million for Buendia this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Allen said: “It goes without saying that Villa have got to get the maximum fee out of him, as they do in every deal.
“He’s done well, so they’ve got to try and work with that.
“I think if they get £20m for him, they’ll be really happy, but they’ll try and push towards £30m.
“It would definitely be a good signing for Leeds because it’s so hard to score goals coming up to the Premier League.
“You need to take a chance on a player who could get 10 goals. It’s a big jump from the Championship, as we’ve seen, so that would be a good move for Leeds, I reckon.“

Buendia to Leeds United edges closer
It could prove to be a major risk for the Villans to not only part ways with the diminutive Argentine but to send him to another Premier League side.
With that being said, Nassef Sawiris will be keen to fight against PSR concerns, and the sale of a fringe player like the number 10 could make sense.
If a fee upwards of £30m could be achieved, that would certainly be possible and help Monchi in his mission to build a competitive squad this summer.
