Aston Villa handed ‘green signal’ in Nathan Zeze transfer chase
Aston Villa are reportedly keen on bringing Nathan Zeze to Villa Park this summer ahead of Everton and Bournemouth.
Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has assessed the Nantes centre-back’s fitness record ahead of a potential transfer this summer.
Unai Emery wants new defenders in this window as he’s keen on qualifying for the Champions League next season.

Zeze’s ankle injury may be looked at but should not cause any issues with his medical
Aston Villa want to assess the 19-year-old’s ankle as he missed two months with an injury last season, according to Dr Brar.
However, as he returned and played regularly, it is not likely to cause any issues with his medical.
This comes as Villa, along with Everton and Bournemouth, are eyeing a move for Zeze, per Ouest France (20 May, page 19).

Speaking about this situation, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Villa News: “The club may take a closer look at his recent significant ankle injury and if there’s any increased wear and tear in the region, as he missed two months.
“While that is a concern, he appears to have shrugged it off, and I do not see why he would have any issues with his medical.
“However, it’s best to do their background research before signing him.“

Aston Villa should not gamble on unproven players
While Zeze is a hot prospect, unless he’s signed for the reserves and the plan is to loan him out, Aston Villa must stay away from this.
If they want him to strengthen the first team, it might be a step too big for him at that stage in his career.
The French defender has also suffered a serious injury last season and may be carrying some wear and tear from it.
The Premier League is an extremely intense competition and he could aggravate things further if it isn’t dealt with well enough.
It remains to be seen if Emery asks the owners to sanction funds for more proven players who will strengthen the first team.
